Congressman Ben Lujan Visits De Vargas Middle School

On Friday August 19th, Congressman Ben Lujan, Superintendant of Santa Fe Public Schools Bobbie Guiterrez, and Santa Fe Public Schools Board Chair Barbara Gudwin visited De Vargas Middle School's Citizen Schools program that was featured on the front page of the Santa Fe New Mexican on  Monday August 15th. The Congressman spoke with students about longer school days, what they are learning, and how they feel about staying in school longer each day.

De Vargas Middle School in Santa Fe, NM is a part of Citizen Schools' expanded learning time (ELT) national pilot program that is working to close the middle school achievement gap and impact graduation rates.
