At Citizen Schools, we envision a world in which schools, companies, and families partner to provide students with real-world learning experiences that put them on a path to college and career success. We are thankful for our growing group of service-minded volunteer partners who are passionate about closing the opportunity gap. Fostering relationships with non-profits and universities allows Citizen Schools to provide our students with a diverse group of caring and supportive mentors. This year for the first time, Citizen Schools New York hosted a Partnership Guest Week in late April.

Partnership Guest Week gives the opportunity to potential non-profit and university partners to see and experience our program in action. In attendance were, De’Lor Cakery, The New School of Design who engaged the students in hands-on activities.

One guest shared that she felt inspired to learn more about Citizen Schools and how she can continue to work with under-served youth after having previously worked with young people in the foster care system.

The event left guests inspired to support Citizen Schools’ mission by creating enriching experiences for our students. Thank you to all who attended and we look forward to partnering with these organizations soon to help all students thrive in a modern economy.
